Dublin Day 3

Today we had a little more energy and some time to explore Dublin! We grabbed a quick breakfast at the Queen of Tarts of potato pancakes and coffee and just walked around the city. During our walk we stumbled into Dublin City Hall where we learned a little bit about the city and we got a quick glimpse of the Dublin Castle. After walking around we also grabbed a quick snack and a Guinness at The Brazen Head, a popular Irish pub. There we tried fish cakes and spent our meal looking at the many police badges travelers have brought to decorate the walls of the pub over the years. Some Minnesota badges featured were from Eden Prairie, MOA Security, and Farmington! Later we walked by Trinity College and got gelato along the large outdoor shopping streets. We ended the night at dinner with some friends of Ellie’s at Searson’s, a Pub in Dublin where I got my first taste of Irish Blood pudding. So far I have been able to try bangers and mash, blood pudding, a sausage roll, and fish and chips! Hopefully before we leave I will get to try some Irish stew! On the itinerary for tomorrow we have our first day tour where we will go to Cork and a few other stops.
